My dog thinks she is a cat?! Anyone else experience this?

I'll start from the beginning of the story:

My cat Ms. Kitty is a little over a year now. My fiancé and I did not plan on getting a cat, until a truck stopped in front of our house and threw a kitten out the window! She was about 6 weeks old, and seemed well taken care of. Of course we could not leave her in the middle of the road, we rescued her from a dangerous situation. We both loved cats but knew we could not keep her, because we live near the road, scared she might find a way out of our house and get hit. Another reason was we had a puppy of 6 months. We kept Miss. Kitty over night trying to find her a new home. We wanted to find someone the love and care for her, not the pound, most cats in the pound around here live a bad life. We fell in love with her, after no one wanted her, we decided on keeping her. My puppy soon started playing with the new kitten, they grew up together, now my dog thinks she can meow, climb, and jump like a cat. She will not eat her doggie food unless it has some cat food mixed in. They are best friends. Since my cat had her first litter (was not planned on) my dog thinks she can also nurse the kitten. She cleans, tries to feed, and is very protective over the baby. Has anyone else had a dog act like this? I mean I'm very glad she accepts them, but she actually thinks she is a cat!

What a cute story and good on you for keeping the kitty! Our dog Jessy thinks she's a cat. She'll nimbly jump up onto the couch arms and lounge on them when all of the good seats in the house are taken, but other than that.. I don't think I've ever heard of a more cat-dogish cat than yours. It seems sweet. :)

My dog Sugars does this also! She normally does it on the back of the couch. It seems very odd of her to do this, she is a half beagle/ jack Russell terrier. We saved her from the pound when she was a baby.

My Keeshond (RIP) used to be very cat like. he'd rub his head against you and rub along the couch like a cat would. he would also sit on the back of the couch and lick paws to get at his face like a cat. Keeshonds are known to be cat-like.

But I think it's great that you adopted this kitty :D

Well, my German Shepherd actually hissed at another dog before... I couldn't believe it!  I said it must be that she's been living with cats for too long and forgot she was a dog, heh... I had 5 cats and her at the time, so she didn't have daily interactions with other dogs. She also liked to rub her head and back on furniture like a cat or sometimes rub her head on people.
