Cats nipples sore

Hi there, I am new to this website. Was just wondering my aunties cat who is under a year old had kittens a week past Sunday there are 6. I went down to see them tonight and one of the mothers nipples is really red and swollen, she hasn't been near her kittens a lot today and seems to be peeing everywhere quite a lot (just today) the cat is a very friendly cat but she is hissing at us as she is in do much pain. She won't let the kittens feed as it is too sore. Just wondering what can we do right now until we get her to a vet? Thank you for any help in advance

That sounds like Mastitis to me, but I'm no cat expert, but I did have it myself when my youngest was a week old and I had to stop feeding her as it was very painful. I would suggest taking her to the vet to get some antibiotics. Good luck

Look up mastitis pictures. Is that what it looks like? If so, she needs vet care.

Thank you so much for your replies, I have looked this up and I think it may be mastitis, I have got in contact with my auntie she will not manage to get to a vet until tomorrow will the cat be okay?

I think she will be ok until then, but I don't know if the kittens will be if she's not allowing them to feed. How long has it been since the kittens have fed?

From this morning I think, she lets them go on her but then they go onto the sore nipple and then hides away. My cousin who is 11 is really worried as am I and my auntie x
