I found you by googling Siamese points/colours, specifically ginger/red, I have a 2 1/2yr old modern/wedgehead meezer (everyone actually calls her Meez now as a nickname lol!). When we adopted her the breeder told us she was 'seal', but zero mention of tortie, it was only through her points coming in with age & a friend whose mother was an experienced breeder commented on a pic of her at a very young age questioning if she is tortie (I 'think' was due to her white patch around one eye other than that she had minimal colour/variety at that age).
She now has a very muddy face with no distinctive 'mask' outline, with white eye patch (which has teeny amounts of red/ginger through!), all her points are mottled, including her pawpads. Her legs are much lighter & patterned (not typical solid stockings) with pale brown/tan/grey streaks & stippling, but again has solid dark patches there too. Her tail is more solid & consistent, is mostly black with lil' grey/white scattered throughout. Her tummy is gorgeous pure white/cream with a grey/brown streak & is so so soft to the touch (is it odd that she rolls over like a dog & demands tummy-rubs?!). The oddest but most interesting markings/colourings of all are her ears, rich, chaotically mottled with all the above colours but with very distinctive addition of red (!!), flame/copper/ginger (hence her other nickname 'gingerbits'!), she's a proper painters palettes dream lol, & I wouldn't have her ANY other way, her personality & lil' character is just as charming, as is her doting attention to me & her pappa
I know a 'little' about the genetics of male or female only inheriting certain colours from mum &/or dad & their ancestry, pigmentation, recessive genes etc, but my queries are: What defines her as a 'seal pt' if she has SOOO many colours in her? Are they labelled by the most prominent colour? & how would the breeder have known, as her points were very minimal & deceiving prior to her coming to her new home at 12wks. Either way doesn't bother me, I LOVE that she's tortie & so unique, but it's something I've always wondered & never found an answer for.
Thanks so much for your time, I look forward to learning from you all & having a laugh along the way with lots of cute pics to 'awwwww' at. I'll try & post more & pics etc tomo, I'm exhausted & eyelids are struggling to keep up, so we're off for bedtime huggles
