I have a 10 year old Devon Rex female who has a
Always been healthy until this year. About four months ago she got an upper respiratory infection. She was given a shot of antibiotics and she cleared up. Two months later it was the same symptoms...the vet gave her a shot of prednisone and antibiotics. The vet is thinking she has Asthma. I live in an older house which is musty. Is there anything that I could give Molly on a regular basis which would keep her respiratory issues down. I can't afford a lot of trips to the vet!

Well, if she has asthma, the Vet should be able to give has prescription meds and even an inhaler, if necessary, to avoid constant visits to see him.

In the meantime, I don't know if it would help or not, but L-Lysine is given to cats with Herpes to help them with their immune systems.  I know Herpes cats seem to get upper respiratory infections with some frequency, so it might help.
I believe you can either get capsules or in powder form and just sprinkle it on her food twice a day.

In case you want to get really technical on the subject, here's a lengthy thread on the good and bad of L-Lysine:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/247989/...for-how-long-and-for-what-and-other-questions
