So ive been going through my things out of storage, and I've realised I have way to many books that I will never read again once they have been read.

Do you re-read books or read them then pass them on?

It depends on the book.  I have some that I've read multiple times.  Others I've only read once but I never know when I'll get the urge to read them again.  I only have a few that I can tell after the first reading (or half reading sometimes) that I'll never read it again.  In that case I pass it on if I know someone who likes that style better.

I keep what I figure I'll reread and pass on the ones that I probably won't. Nowadays I usually get e-books, so I don't have to worry about the house being filled to the rafters with books.

I don't read as much as I used to.. but my sister gives me books to read. I either return them to her if she requests them back, or leave it by the dumpster for other people take (which they usually do, and they leave some too for me to grab).

I don't have the space in my apartment to keep every book.. I keep the ones I really enjoy at least, just in case I do want to re-read them

No, I don't re-read. I still have books I have read, but now I just go to the library instead. Unless there is a book I really want to read, & the library

doesn't have it, although, I did just buy a used book for 4.00 the other day.

Right. I have a full library of e-books on 1 DVD. Over 5,000 books.

paperbacks i pass on or trade in. but there's certain authors, like R.Jordan, G.R.R. Martin, Koontz and a few other i started collecting in hardcover when i worked in a bookstore and they are all signed. and i got a lot of celebrity bios signed, like Bruce Dern, Goldie Hawn, George Forman etc. i'll probably sell some of them someday. that's why our 2nd bedroom is called 'the Library'.

I very rarely re-read fiction.  I have a friend who is a prolific reader and he passes stuff on to me and I just give it back.  If I do buy non-fiction I give it to him as he goes to second-hand book places and trades books in.

Non fiction I keep (so of course I have a lot of it!)

I do re-read many of my favorite books and let people borrow them. I save all of my text books, I never know when I might need to brush up on my Greek archaeology. lol. I'm a cultural anthropologist, so the answer is probably never, but I just keep them anyways.

I usually share e-books with my SO. We will each buy some and then let the other borrow the book via kindle. The only downside to borrowing a book on the kindle is you only have 14 days. Usually this isn't a problem, but I was rushing through the first GOT book. Gutenberg Project is great if you are interested in the classics.

Any other books that I want to get rid of I just donate to the local library.

I re-read a lot of my books. I let some people borrow my books, but I'm pretty careful.

I will donate books to our library for their annual book sale.

Trying to build up my Nook collection now.

I don't re-read my fiction novels and will donate them. The books that I keep are mostly pet health related books for reference and non-fiction books. I don't read as much as I would like. I will usually pick up a good novel on vacation but have not had a vacation in quite awhile. :lol3:

No I never re-read books, I have a spread sheet on my XL page to keep track of all books I've read especially for that purpose.  I stopped buying and keeping books years ago, I now just get books from my library so I can get rid of them asap.  Movies, I will watch again and again but not reading books
