has anyone dealt with this tritrichomonas? I have a 20 month old Persian. She is healthy otherwise. Treated her for this last summer. She was clear for a few month and now it is back. There is some controversy about the ronidazole used to treat it. Some articles say it will resolve on its own. I plan on taking her back to the vet. She recognized tis problem long before it was considered a problem. Betsy came from a very reputable breeder who has no other cats that have tested positive for this. We have one other Persian from the same breeder and no problems at all.  thanks

I recall reading several threads over the years about cats with T. Foetus (same thing) here on this site.  Along with the ronidazole, were you religious about cleaning her litter box WITH BLEACH?  Here is a thread that discusses that:

I think you're very lucky your other cat hasn't gotten it
.

To read some other threads, just do a search from the top of the page.  I think most people just refer to it as T. Foetus.

As far as I can tell, ronidazole IS the recommended treatment, but definitely follow the guidelines.

for your little Betsy.  Sounds like it could take several months to fully disappear.
