Hi there..

I am new to this forum and have some questions. Recently I started feeding the strays in my place. I just brought 2 cans of newman organic beef wet food. I went down to feed one of the kitties and they wonluldnt even touch it. In the end I have to throw away the whole thing.. maybe theu are stray and used to eating kibbles and friskies.. I heard the cat lady who is feeding them always buy snappy tom for them.. any idea if I can let them eat the canned I buy? I buy quite a few. They like the evangers buffalo. I am panning to buy merrick before grain organic chicken and quail. Should I mix it with their snappy tom?? Thank you for any advise..

Are you talking about Snappy Tom the spicy tomato juice
.  I would NOT feed that to a cat!  It has too many things that I would think would NOT be good for them.

And when you say kitties, are you they actually kittens, or cats?  If kittens, I would try to get them to eat kitten food, if they are fairly young.  Kitten food has more of the things young kittens need to grow.  If they are cats, then BG would be good, or actually whatever canned food they will eat.  Many cats are picky about canned food, especially if they have only eaten kibble all their lives.  It's just a matter of finding something they like, although I would think strays wouldn't be too picky.  They must be getting regular meals somewhere

Whew!  I've not heard of Snappy Tom Cat Food, and can't find much when I google it, but glad it's not the spicy tomato juice

So, yes, you could mix your new food with it and hopefully these cats will get used the new food that way.  If they will eat the new food mixed into the old, then just start decreasing the amount of the Snappy Tom each day until they are off of it.  You don't HAVE to do that, only if they refuse to eat everything you offer them

I found a site that rates Snappy Tom food. It says that it looks like chunks of fish, not a pate or shreds, in jelly. It is an Australian company and has been in business since 1965.

I bought Newman's Own for my indoor cats and they all snubbed it! I gave it to a lady who feeds a colony and she said they loved it. That's why I love cats so much - they are such individuals.
