My cat went missing last July. I had given her away because I was moving and she was unfamiliar with the area and got outside and never came back.

She did end up coming back three months later. I took her home with me immediately afraid to loose her again but she was in rough shape. She was about two pounds and her collar the new owner had given her was stuck between her right leg and her neck and had started to embed itself into her skin. Horrible!

Two surgeries later she still has a gash under her arm. No FIV or leukaemia she's been on several types of antibiotics and the vet has no idea what to do! He's never seen anything like it it's been 7 months and it hasn't healed. I'm at my wits end my poor cat has been poked and proded for months. Any one have similar situation or insight? Anything is appreicated

Have you tried L-lysine? From what I've read, it helps boost their immune system. The antibiotics may have done some harm, as they often kill good bacteria, too. Was the collar a flea collar? That might have irritated the wound, too.

I'm glad she's home!
