Tony and Angel have a vet appointment 9:30 tomorrow for their shots. I have the 2 carriers sitting in the computer room and they're very curious about them, but haven't connected anything unplesant. Now my first cat, Boots - as soon as h e saw the carrier h e'd run and hide!

Yes - doors are open and each of them has spent some time lounging in the carriers.

Abby used to lounge in her carrier too. I could never understand it. :lol3: I should put her new one out.

Good luck at the vet. :cross:

Mollipop does that, too. We get the carrier out and Molli goes right in and flops down. She doesn't mind the carrier at all.

Leaving shortly to take Bootser to the vet.

Good luck with your kids, Lana!

My cat Mia goes in her carrier on command, I just say "Mia, in you go" and she runs to the box and inside she goes.

The only trouble I have is getting her out once we get to the vet haha! She spreads her back legs and hangs on for dear life.

The word  "c a r r i e r" is a dirty word around here!  As soon as they see me near one, they run.

All I have to do is CALL the vet (even from work) and Amber Louise disappears! It's like she knows. She's gone and she doesn't even come out for supper. And, if we bring the carrier up from the basement, that girl is gone. She used to disappear for a few days, she was that scared of the carrier (and the vet).

Last night I brought the carrier up. Amber took one look and left the area....she has a hidey-hole somewhere in the house that she uses for vet appointments. Molli, on the other hand, said, "Me, me, me!" and walked right in and curled up inside. We had to force her out to put Bootser in.

When we first brought Mollipop into the house, she lived back in the computer room for awhile during the day while we were at work. We had the carrier in the room, too, and she used to go in there to nap. So, for her, the carrier is a place of security and it doesn't bother her at all. (She hates the vet, though.)

And Melhammouche, our cats do the same thing when they're at the vet. They spread their legs and it's a struggle getting them back out of the carrier. "No, no, no, I'm not coming out and you can't make me!"

There's a reason the vet is referred to as TED (The Evil Doctor).

Haha Winchester once we (finally) pull her out she does a tiny few drips wee, stands there shaking while she gets poked and prodded and then with her tail between her legs crawls back into her box. Poor things, if only they knew what we do for them.

Tony and Angel screamed all the way to the vet - I never knew Tony could make that much noise! I guess it's the trauma of riding in the car. anyway, both of them had slight ear infections so I have a cream to put in their ears once a day. Shouldn't be a problem - not like giving the pills of liquid meds. Both of them checked out good, heart and lungs in good shape. They are so happy to be home --- and poor Tippy freaked out when she saw us taking them out the front door this morning. She's happy to have them back again (at least she's happy to have Tony back).

:yeah: Hercules does the same thing. When we finally get him out of the cage at the vet's we have to latch the door. He spends the entire vet visit with his paws hooked through the wire on the door trying to get it open. Of course, he's purring away at the same time.

Glad to hear they're healthy.

Is it weird that I don't take my mittens in a carrier? I just carry her and out we go!

I don't know about weird, but it is risky. . .if something scared her, I doubt you could hold on to a flailing, kicking cat. And if there was a cat-aggressive dog in the waiting room, it could jump on you and attack her easily.
