The cicadas are here

This morning they were climbing up the house on the screening everywhere!!
I am so creeped out. I am terrified of them. I gave my 3 year old a super soaker water gun a tennis racket and a broom and had him out side getting rid if them.
I remember we had them last in 1996. I was invited to a BBQ. When we were almost there there were cicadas everywhere. Bouncing off the car, swarming everywhere. I dropped off my passenger and refused to get out of car. I went home.
I'm so freaked out right now.

We haven't seen (or heard) them. Yet. I understand that they're on their way!

I don't hear them but I see them. The birds are having a feast eating them.
To make it worse my hubby heard you can cook them and eat them and wants to try it!!!

Not looking forward to them either.. I don't like "Crunchy" bugs.. I am sure I'll be freaking out too!! How long are they expected to stick around for? The entire summer?

They say til the end of June, for here in NY

i hate these bugs they are too loud. I haven't seen them yet this year.

For ny this is the 17 year cicada swarm, not the usual summer cicadas.
These guys come out in hundreds
