So early for me today.. silly PT job.

Anyway, simple question.. Do you shop the clearance section in the stores? Do you mind if an item is slightly dirty or chipped when buying from clearance?

I love shopping the clearance.. you never know what you'd find! I found a nice couch slip-cover for 20 bucks (originally 100!). It was a customer return but nothing was wrong with it!

I love clearance sections! There is a clothing store here call Gabriel Brothers that is all out of season, damaged, or seconds. You have to take the time to look over everything carefully, but if you have the patience, you can find brand name stuff for super cheap. You might have to sew on a button or two or fix a tear, but that doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I get a little thrill when I find a super bargain! I do thrift stores, too.
I love it when garden centers have a clearance section. Usually the plants were overlooked somehow and just need a little TLC to be perfect. And I always take a minute to check out the discounted section at the grocery store, too.

I'm a bit of a bargain fanatic.. first place I look.

It's amazing what is heavily reduced with only the tiniest of issues with it.

My last one was a really lovely shower curtain from Ikea that was half price because it didn't have it's wrapping.. Nothing wrong with it!

The only problem with bargains is being absolutely certain that you are going to have a use for it......

You are so right! I mostly shop for things I need so it's plain luck when there's a bargain sale for the items I want. But my sister-in-law is a bargain freak. Just recently she bought a dozen door mats because they were like 75% off the original price. She didn't really need them so she gave them away to anybody who wanted one. I don't understand it at all.

I'm my mother's daughter - I always look in the clearance section first and have found just what I was searching for at a great price.

Ummmm, no. I don't know why.....I guess I just don't think about it.

My sister always goes to the clearance racks at Lowes for her plants and flowers. She can take the sickliest-looking plant home, plant it up, and before long it's healthy. A little TLC goes a long way. I do that.....and the poor things die.

Yes! I generally do not purchase items unless they are on sale, clearance, etc. I HATE paying full price.

I do check them quite a lot, I got 4 champagne flutes for way less than half price, they were there because they were getting a new line in and they needed them gone, so I paid £1.39.

I do it when Im food shopping when I go out inbetween getting it delivered, I got a loaf of bread and 6 bread buns for 17p loaf went in the freezer and the buns lasted a couple of days I rarely pay full price for bread anymore, you just have to work out when the super markets put them in the whoops aisle

If I see a real good bargain, I may pick it up.  Normally I don't go to the clearance areas of a store tho.

I do!  Like you say; you never know what you'll find!

I especially like it when they are clearing out toys to make way for new stuff. I'll get some things for my kid's for the next Christmas, birthdays, etc.

I love clearance sections and love nothing better than a great bargain!

Pam --- I laughed about your sister saving the sickliest looking plant. As for me - I buy the healthiest looking plants and eventually they turn into sickly looking plants!

I always browse the clearance section of a store. If I find something that I want then I will purchase. Frequently beauty and personal care products get repackaged every year and so the old bottles will go on clearance. I will stock up on conditioner. lol. What can I say I love a good deal and I have a small addition to hair products.

I do check the clearance shelves quite a bit.  At Walgreens on the aisle caps in the back they have all kinds of goodies on clearnace.  But the bad thing is sometimes I see something that I know is such a good price it proves difficult to walk away, even though I know I don't need it.  :)
