You should let them stay with their mother and littermates for 10-12 weeks. So you have a while to think about it :).

Never give kittens away free---ask enough to discourage snake owners, dog fighters, and people who sell animals to research labs. . .maybe $20, more if you've had vet work done. It's easier to get people to pay if the kittens have had their vet work. They should be de-wormed a few times, starting around 4-5 weeks; ask your vet for a safe de-wormer. Ideally, they should have their first shots before going to new homes, usually that's done about 6-9 weeks. If there's a low-cost spay/neuter clinic in your area, try to have the kittens spayed/neutered before they go to new homes, that way they don't add to the crushing cat overpopulation problem too. If not, make the new owners sign a contract that they'll have it done before the kittens are 4-5 months old.

Ask potential adopters for their vet's name and number (if they don't have a vet that's a bad sign, unless they've never had pets before. If that's so, ask what vet they plan to use). Ask what happened to their previous pets. Make sure that if they rent their house, their landlord says they can have pets. Talk to them for a while, try to get a feel for what kind of people they are (like if they let their kid mistreat the kittens---bad sign!). It can be hard to find good homes for kittens, but do your best!

It is a good and useful routine, good to notice problems, so proceed as long as you can.  Even if the first 3 weeks are the most important.

If they get too big too weigh conventiently on the scale, you can use a mixer vessel to weigh them in   :)

Good luck!

I dawned on me you prob mean 0,4-0,5OZ, - which is about 10-15 grammes each day.  Yes, it is OK. Not grandious, but OK.   :)

About opening of eyes. Its partly individual. Some open earlier. This means also some open later. If there is no visible wrong with that kitten, you may just wait.

What may be wrong: say if it has some infection in the eyes, and they are shut by pus, or similiar...

But if you dont see any signs of problems, you can wait.

If you wish, you can probably being very careful and easy on hand wipe the eyeskin with a  soft cloth / baby wipe, wetted a little in saline warm water.

A tea spoon (3g) salt in a litre water.

Cant hurt, may help.

Good luck!
