I took my cat to the vet a few weeks ago with sore feet and a scabby nose. My vet gave him antibiotics and pain relief and said his feet are burnt from concrete and he looks like he has been fighting. I asked if there is a possibility it was cancer and the vet said it is not something she has seen much but thinks it could be if it doesnt heal.

Now in this few weeks, I have had surgery, had to leave my job and am struggling financially hence asking for advice, if I was working and didnt just get out of hospital yesterday I would just be paying for whatever to fix this, so please be gentle with me.

It did not get better, in fact the nose is looking swollen, raw, and the scabs have spread to his lips (attached pictures)

I rung my vet and asked what I do now, they said surgery to remove the lump or remove a sample and test that (this costs more than it does to remove the whole lot) She is still not sure if it is cancer.

Can someone just have a look at the pictures and give your thoughts? I am just confused, broke, sick and so worried for him.

I WILL find the funds, I have to but can they remove that many scabs, lumps? The vet has not seen how spread out it is so is her over the phone assessment to remove "the lump" even possible with that many little scabs.

Sorry the pictures are weird he is sleeping upside down on me.

I will take him to the vet, I just need to talk it out as it is too late today to take him anywhere

Thanks

Well, I hate to say it,but I did a search at the top of the page (on this site), and came up with another thread with pictures, and (to me), the pictures look somewhat similar, and on that cat they WERE precancerous cells

Here is that thread you want to read it, although it is quite old at this point:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/77546/nose-probs

not only for your furbaby, but for your own fortune to turn around also

Thank you.

I will definitely have a read. I took my cat to another vet today and had a consultation with the surgeon.

He has seen this many times and thinks it is a severe hypo sensitive reaction to mosquito bites (found in 1% of cats)

but says there is a small chance it could be cancer, he has had a steroid shot and is on a week of antibiotics and in three weeks is back for another steroid shot. If it does not clear up in a couple of months they want to do a biopsy

So for now we are to just keep in inside and keep up with his meds *fingers crossed*

OH your poor kitty. Welcome to the site, Stacey. I know of another member who had a cat recently that had a swollen/bump on nose. I will try to find the thread as there may be something helpful. It was from mosquito bites.

Found it: here is a possible related thread. http://www.thecatsite.com/t/256375/sundar-to-the-vet

:vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: that it is not cancer. :cross: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

that it's only an allergy to mosquitoes.  Wouldn't that be something.
