I have a 6 year ols male tuxedo cat that I have had since he was 5 weeks old. I have had him fixed 3 years ago. I haven't had a problem with him since then, until now. He all of a sudden just started peeing on our couch and in my laundry baskets. I don't know why he is doing this. I love my cat but its embarrassing to have people over because they can't sit on the couch cause he has peed on it. I clean his litter box all the time and I know he uses it cause I see him use it. We have another cat Tyson, who is older and the two cats love each other alot but its just Gator who seems to pee on everything. I don't know what to do!

I would get Gator into see the vet as soon as possible. Call your vet tomorrow!

Inappropriate urination is usually a sign of a bigger issue and not behavioral. He needs to have a urinalysis done to rule out any urinary tract issues or bladder stones. If he stops peeing altogether then it can be a life or death situation. Male cats seem especially prone to these problems.

Other than the new urination sites, has anything changed? Food, workers outside, being home more often (job layoff), etc.? If not then I'd take him to the vet. It could be a UTI, diabetes, or any other health problem. Use an enzymatic cleanser to clean the couch and other inappropriate elimination sites.
