Cat sneezing and stuffy nose

I've been giving my 8 year old cat Benadryl for the last 3 days but he is still sneezing and stuffed up. Are there any other suggestions before I take him to the vet?

Did the vet okay giving him an antihistamine? I have never heard of giving a cat Benadryl before.

Your cat probably has an upper respiratory infection and I would get him into the vet this week. I know cats can have allergies, but when there is mucous involved it is definitely time to see the vet. I know they aren't open on holidays, so I would call tomorrow morning and get an appointment.

ETA: I did read that cats can take Benadryl in proper doses. I'm sure you read up on it before giving it to him. I would have never thought of that though. I would still take him in to make sure it is not an infection. 

Your plan to take him to the vet is a good one. Please take him in tomorrow. Respiratory infections can be very serious problems.
