Hello everyone,

I'm new here, and my gorgeous calico cat called Callie is pregnant, ive had her at the vet twice to be checked over, the vet reckoned 2 weeks ago she was about 5-6 weeks pregnant, Just this morning she is being very vocal and have noticed her behaviour has changed she is quite grumpy and is normally a loving wee soul, she is searching all over the house I presume looking for somewhere cosy to have her precious little bundles.

I also noticed her kittens moving about and is now constantly licking herself, can anyone please tell me roughly when she is likely to go into labour?

Also my older Cat Sophie wont leave her alone and is always by her side grooming her, should I seperate them when Callie goes into labour?

Any advice given will be greatly appreciated, Thank you :wavey:

My cat is currently in labor right now, lol. But I did notice her personality changed as soon as she was in labor. Went from complete loner to having me think she was going to give birth in my lap! Lol this is my first experience with a cat in labor, but the mood/personality thing didnr change until she was in labor. But that's my experience. Wish you luck!

You feel the kittens move usually about 2 weeks before it is time. Some may feel them a little earlier, but 2w is the usual.

Yes, some behaviour changes are common, most got more friendly, but some more grumpy, even - aggressive...  Quite natural, there are lotsa of hormon surges, and the need to find protection.

Some find protection by pleasing themselves in, other by doing themselves active defence...

IF they are best friends, and she wants this friendship and this company, you can her friend be with her, at least afterwards.

But if there is any hesitation or any no, - do separate.

Playing safe you do separate, but as hinted - quite common company of best friend is welcome, even if this best friend is a male.

Good luck!
