My cat (3 m.o.) was spayed last Wednesday. Everything was fine up until today. I checked her incision in the morning and saw a thick discharge on it. It is a very light brown in color. It doesn't have a smell, no redness or swollen around the wound. I am very nervous about this discharge though. Do I have to take her to the vet? Could this be an infection? It is Sunday today and all the clinics in my area are closed. What do I do and how serious can this be?

Tnank you

Hello and welcome to TCS.

I would have it checked out. Always better to lean on the side of safety. You could be catching it early before more serious symptoms have appeared. It can wait until your vet opens I think. Doesn't sound like an emergency right now. Keep the wound as clean as you can until then.

Hope it's nothing serious,
Keep us posted.
