Hey guys -- first time poster here.

My cat has started developing a reddish area on the bottom of her lip. She is about 8 months old and is a Calico. I have been doing some research and I was not aware that plastic could cause an allergic reaction, so I will be switching the stainless steel ASAP. I will also start to clean the reddish area with warm water daily..

Theres a picture of the area. Any ideas? I don't think it could be the acne I am reading about. I will keep an eye on it and if it does not show signs of improvement, off to the Vet I will go!

Much appreciated. :)

I agree with you, if you don't see improvement (within a few weeks) then definitely see a vet.

I have a similar redness (but also dry) on my 18 year old cat's ear on the inside. I think/hope it's allergies but don't know if anything has changed that might cause this.

It very well could be an irritation from the plastic bowls. Good that you chose the stainless bowls. In the meantime, if you don't see it clearing up after switching to the stainless then have your vet look at it. I also have on hand Colloidal Silver and would apply that to the sore. This is the one most of us like to use It is safe to use externally on any kind of wound/sore. :vibes::vibes::vibes:
