Hi! I'm new to this site as of today. We've got 2 "sons", Bamboo and Lucky!
Here's our "firstborn", Bamboo, on a day when he found our comfy towels. He is a little over 2 years old (he's also the one of my profile picture):
We got him when we were living in Michigan a couple years ago from our massage therapist. She got him for her son who wanted a kitten. Her daughter named him Bamboo because he was black and white like a panda, and since pandas eat bamboo... you get the picture. Our massage therapist asked us to babysit him for a weekend while they were away, and the following Tuesday she asked us if we'd keep him. She could only keep him in a little shed outside her house because her landlord didn't allow pets, so she thought he'd have a better home inside a home. We gladly said yes. He is hands-down the most social cat I've ever had! Loves people, but has some aggression issues (which I'll probably be asking advice about in future threads). Because he's so social we've felt for a long time that he's needed a playmate. Which brings me to our next boy...
Our next "son," Lucky, is about 10 weeks now:
Two weeks ago, my husband was coming home from work at night and heard loud meows coming from behind our apartment. He investigated and found the kitty soon to be known as Lucky. He was all by himself. After about 15 minutes my husband caught him and brought him in. We washed him up (as is evidenced by the bottom-right picture) and after taking him to the vet, found he might have ringworm. Actually, I think he most likely does, as I've developed a lesion that looks like it could be ringworm. :/ His treatment is complicated, as I'll be traveling and taking both boys with me, so I have to wait until next week to get a culture done. I'm basically freaking out, thanks to the things I've read on the Internet. He's a sweet boy, though, and gets along great with Bamboo. We named him Lucky because it fit well with Bamboo ("Lucky Bamboo"), and because not only was he lucky my husband found him, but we're lucky to have him!
Anyway, that's us in a nutshell. Looking forward to learning more from you all.
