Hello

I am trying to keep ticks of my cats, I hear lemongrass is the key ingredient in many tick repellents.

So is this safe for my cats to drink (if I buy the tea) or will buy the plant for them to chew on? If this is safe of course - I used garlic but thats toxic to cats.

If there food that has lemongrass in?

The plants are safe for cats - in moderation, of course. Concentrated lemongrass oils, teas and such can be toxic to cats.  A lot of Thai food has lemongrass in it, but it also has garlic, onion and other things toxic to cats.

I would buy the plant.  If possible, it should be grown in organic soil, no fertilizer or pesticides added.

And don't 'free feed' the lemon grass; put it out for a limited time and then hide it.

That's right. But don't leave it out all the time. Let them at it once a week or so. Let if be a special treat.

I agree with catspaw--let it be a special treat.

Ritz loves cat grass, but if she eats too much of it--especially on an empty stomach--she tends to throw up after she eats.
