Duh..that does make sense! I've just always thrown them in the wash & the dryer. That's the way my Mom taught me years ago & I never gave it much thought. It's make sense that the heat would destroy the elastic in them...no wonder my bras don't last very long!

I'm going to have to try hand washing or atleast washing them on delicate and then hanging them to dry.

I'm gonna try it too. I do have to admit...I did find ONE nice bra at Walmart 2 weeks ago. I can't remember the name of it (I'm actually wearing it at the moment, so I can't just look at it either), but it was for Plus sized gals. I think it was called Curvation & so far it's the best bra I've ever bought at Wally World. It's got good support & it looks nice too. It's black with hot pink lace up straps the front between your boobs. Lets just say I've got a compliment on it too!

So Cathi, did Ken get to see the new goodies?

Are you sure that it was the THUMBS that were up?

Frederick's has bras up to an FF. I think that if I was that big, I'd get a boob bob. That's GOT to cut your shoulders and kill your back! I hit their online sales and get some good deals.

A while back, I read that most women wear the wrong size bra. We have some very heavy women at work, who are in serious need of a better fit. Their bras are too small and give them that "four boob" look. Some of them are too tight, across the back and make them look as if they have a pair back there, too.

OMG! LMFAO! It's amazing how those women don't notice that! It's so not attractive to see women with multi boobs on their back & popped over the top of their bras in the front. Don't they look in the mirror when they get dressed?

I HATE the four boob look!!! At DDD by back doesn't bother me and I have to make sure the DDD are strechie so they will fit. I might get a boob job when I get alittle older if my back does start to bother me but it seems like no matter what wait I am I'm still a ddd just the number in front goes down.

ROFLMAO!! my SIL has that! (the one that is bad) I dont know how they cant notice?? like Shell says, dont they look in the mirror?

I have the kind of bra that has that thin padding and every time I wash it I have to literally reshape the cups. otherwise they go all funky and stuff.

I have a question. Why do the straps ALWAYS slide doowwwnnn the shoulder? I have like three inches of strap they are so tight. then it rides up your back.

Where is Kev? This seems like his kind of thread.

If one is having problems with slipping straps, try a wider strap. When I made evening gowns and prom dresses, I put strap snaps into the shoulders. These are 2" pieces of 1/4" elastic, stitched onto the shoulder seams at one end, with a snap at the other. This kept bra straps from peeking out of necklines and/or armholes.

I never ever put lingerie in the dryer. My mom always told me that was a no-no, unless it was 100% cotton panties . . . then it's OK. And it works, too, I think I've only had to throw away one or two bras ever, unless it was the ones I out-grew back in high school, and those just didn't fit anymore.

I have a great set-up for lingerie, though. My mom's good friend works for Maidenform. So, she always has all these extra samples, that weren't used in the modeling for the retail companies that were going to order them. Afterwards, the extras are sold really cheap, since they don't have the tags and labels on them like normal lingerie. And they're always in my size, too! (The samples only ever come in one size, usually.) It's $1 for each panty and $5 for each bra. Cool, huh?

Ya know it ended up one day that Kylee (whose 9) and I were at wally world when she let me know that she needed a bra... so I took her to the bra dept (she had just turned 8 at the time) and had to explain to her that she didn't actually need a cup size, and then had to explain why....

So now every time we go to a dept store if we pass the bra section, she finds the biggest size picks it and smiles at me, so I tell be carefull, one day you'll have to get one that big... It's like a joke between us now.

One I'll tell the story about when she came outside to ask me what a tampon was...
