Hi,

I adopted a small kitty yesterday. She was checked with the Vet, and he said she has ear mite, but if your cat does not sleep close to her, ear mite wouldn't transfer to him.

Last night I put her in a separate room, and they both started to mew mew .. so I let them play together. at night they stayed in different rooms.

Just now I was reading about ear mites and how contagious they are!! and I am so worried that my other cat it from the little one.

How can I prevent my first cat from getting it from the small cat? they already played together for a few hours. I am very upset and worried :(((

First get a new vet. Any vet worth seeing knows how contagious ear mites are.  Then get some ear mite drops (from the new vet) and treat both of them at the same time.

Here is an on-site article about ear mites      www.thecatsite.com/a/ear-mites-in-cats
