This is a long, long shot but I'm hoping that there is someone out there that can in some way help two old cats who are about to lose their home. The two cats are 13 and 17 and have been in the same home since they were kittens. The owner's landlord has told him that he has to get rid of the cats but as we all know finding placement for cats in any situation is extremely difficult.

My rescue gets calls and emails about similar situations all the time and usually I just tell them that we're full/don't take owner surrenders, but this guy has called me twice pleading. I feel bad for him and even worse for these old cats. They deserve a nice, peaceful retirement home. The 17-year old will probably not be around much longer.

Both cats are mellow, friendly and healthy. They are supposedly very easy to deal with.

Is there anyone out there who would be willing to provide that retirement home for one or both of these cats? They are in the Chicago area (NW suburbs) but transport elsewhere can be arranged. Any other suggestions would be appreciated too.

I considered asking the owner if I could call his landlord and plead with her but would it be butting in too much to ask that?

Do you know if this is a new lease? If the cats' owner has been living there a while, is there anything in the lease about not allowing cats?

As you've said, rehoming 2 older cats is going to be very difficult. I really feel bad for these cats to lose the only home they've known late in life. Many vibes that a solution will come up.
