I've never had a kitten do this before but one of the kittens meows in the litter box when she is using it. She will scratch, squat, appear to go then get up and repeat the process. She does poop, and it is well formed, shiny and doesn't appear too hard. They are just starting to eat more solid food than they were. It's canned and I'm still thinning with water. I do leave out dry food for them but they rarely eat it. Otherwise she is playing, eating and acting normal. She is more vocal than the other kittens so it might just be that.

I just wanted to ask if I should be concerned or take her to the vet. She only started doing it the last few days.

As long as she is pooping and peeing ok, then I don't think I would worry about it, although I would probably post this in the Kitten Care forum, rather then in the Cat Health Forum.  They know more about kittens over there.  All I can tell you is that I have one who has done this since he was about 6 months old, and he continues to this day (he's now 4 years old.  I think he's just announcing to the world that he's doing his business and not to interrupt or something.

Yes, it seems quite a few kittens (and even som adult cats) do so.

As everything else seems well, I too think you can relax.

Good luck!

In a galaxy, far far away...called Illinois.
Muffin AND Winnie (brothers) both meow when they're in the litter box. Ever since they were kittens (About six months now) they'd meow as if to say, "Occupied!" when they were doing their business. So, I wouldn't worry about it. c:
