We named her Penelope. She has a hearty appetite. Uses the litter box. Sleeps in her little bed. No fleas. Gets along with our little poodle. Our big German Shepard police dog is sniffing her while I hold the kitten. He is well trained but I hold the kitten always if I let him in. Penelope goes back to the Vet in two weeks for another check up. She loves, loves to be held and follows me around the house. I've had four rescue cats but this is my first kitten. Found behind a dumpster huddling next to a rat trap. She's here to stay and if I can figure how to post pictures I will. John

Oh congratulations and thank you for saving this poor kitten's life.  And how super that she gets along with your dogs.

I guess her next step is to get spayed?

And yes we LOVE pictures.

This is a smart way to make it double sure he knows she belongs to the family and is in your protection. This way, he will too protect her, even if they dont happen to become best friends.

Good also you arent careless. Big dogs are surprisingly often friendly and even motherly with kittens, but with the big difference in size, he can happen to hurt her in playing.

Buth with time, you will surely take the plunge...  :)

May I ask, are you a policeman yourself, in the dog patrol, or are you a host for a coming / retired police dog?

Good luck!
