Hi everyone. Found a 6 to 8 week kitten. What to feed it? So far I'm giving her a half can (small can) wet kitten food (watering it down some) once in the morning, noontime, and evening. So that's about 1 1/2 cans a day plus water in a bowl. Can anyone tell me if this is ok? She eats it all. I took her to the Vet so I'm starting that whole medical process. Any feedback would be great. She loves to be held and falls asleep on my shoulder when I sit on the couch. Thanks, John

I'm so glad you found her. A kitten that age should eat as much as she wants, literally. I would offer more food in case she wants it.

Do you have any pics to share?

Agree. Good you started so, you dont want her to get too much food in the beginning. But raise the amount if she wants, from now.  Good she is already friendly. You dont have problems with fostering.

And she is accepting you as Dad, or a male Mom if you want.   :).  Which she of course needs, being so little.  Talk much friedly, sing softly, they do love it.   Let her have a cat igloo or similiar to be in if she wants it.  Many cats likes to sleep with their human, but not all humans likes it, you must choose yourself.   :)

No problems with the litter?  Use a non clumping litter to be on the safe side.

The vet will help you with deworming (necessary) and deparasiting, if need be.  I hope she is flea free. there are good medicines for it, vet will help.

Keep reporting and asking!

You are on a very good way!

Oh, John. Thank you for helping this little girl. The only thing I can add is that if you see fleas, bath her with regular Dawn dishwashing liquid. (not the anti-biotic stuff). She'll complain but she'll be a lot happier than being sucked dry by the little critters.
