Hi lady's my cat tillie is also taking her time in getting her kittens out lol,.. I took her for a ultra sound scan and cheque up like 2 and a half weeks ago. They said the bond density on the kittens was so good so said 2-3 weeks maximum till birth... We went on holiday for 12 days so I had a friend stay to look after her but nothing. And now another week later do basically 3 weeks still nothing her tummy is now rock hard can still feel the kittens moving but not as much her nipples don't seem to have changed much no milk as of yet or plug that I have noticed... I'm getting sooooo impaitient.... Any ideas xxx

Unfortunately you just have to keep waiting it out. Unless you know the exact date of conception determining the due date of kittens is almost impossible, even with an ultrasound. It's all an estimate and even well trained vets are rarely ever right. To illustrate, I had one Queen that the shelter had me pick up in the middle of the night because they were 100% positive that she was going to go into labor at any moment, and another where the vet wasn't even certain that she was pregnant (and if she was wasn't more than a week or two along). Needless to say the former waited almost 4 more weeks before she delivered, while the latter went into labor before I even had her home! You just never know.....

Keep reading old threads and articles so that you are as prepared as you can be. Be sure you have your birthing kit all ready and that she has at least one good nesting box set up. Give her as much love and attention as she wants in an effort to keep her as calm and stress free as possible. She will know when it's time and will do her best to indicate that to you. To be safe still check in on her every few hours so that you can be sure you are present for the birth.

Until then sit back with a chunky preggo kitty on your lap and knock back a few adult beverages. It seems to be the best thing for calming the nerves and passing the time!
