This is less a QOD and more of a survey!

My cats refuse to see themselves in the mirror if I pick them up and hold them in front of one.  But I've recently been doing up the bathroom and put the old mirror down on the floor, and it's completely different.. Hackles even went up.

So I'd like to know:

How does your cat react to mirrors?

The furkids here don't react much at all to mirrors. When Mollipop was a kitten, she used to look at herself in the closet door mirrors in the computer room....she seemed interested in the kitty in the mirror. But that's it.

I have a full length mirror in the hall outside the bath. Aristotle first thought it was a doorway to another room, but now it provides great way to keep an eye on what Topaz is doing in the bedroom while he sits in the bathroom.

None of mine are interested in the bathroom mirror.

l moved one to the floor when the kitten came, and he tried to see who was behind it for a while but gradually realized it was himself.

Bretten has zero interest, but Tanner will get himself on the right angle to watch me through it. lt's a little creepy.

We have a full-length mirror in the bedroom that allows a wider view of what's going on outside than the balcony door does. Jamie used to look in the mirror all the time to watch the neighbors, and Mogli is doing the same. Both (have) used mirrors to make eye contact with me standing behind them.

Mine completely ignore mirrors. They walk right pass them. I think they know the other cat is their own reflection.

Yes, mine check out their reflection in the mirror. Mason occasionally battles his reflection in the mirror.

My cats won't even look at a mirror. If you hold one up to them, they look away. They do the same with photos (I was bored one day and wanted to see if they could recognize people and pets they knew).
