Whew! I fought the yard and the yard almost won! Had to work on the lawnmower first, some idiot (me) left gas in it from last fall. Yes, my yard was a jungle, lol! Lost the cover for where the grass blows out while mowing. That made mowing interesting. Just finished mowing then it started thundering.

I'm so jealous of the treadmills and bikes! One if these days I'll get one.

All the yardwork has my allergies and asthma rearing their ugly head. I only made it .7 miles today. :(

Singulair made a huge difference for me. I still take Zyrtec because of sneezing, but I don't have that aggravating drip since starting Singulair.

a lovely chest cold is forcing me to stay home from the gym today. Hopefully tomorrow or Weds I can get back into it.

But so far, being at the gym for one week (3x total) and eating well, I lost 1.5 lbs.

29 to go!

Good luck with that 29 more pounds. If you set your mind to do it,the path  is open for you.  ( Does that sound right ?)

Good luck with those allergies, Karen. Rick feels your pain.....he's really suffering right now, too.

Draco, go! Go! Go!

Lauren, I used to awaken a couple times a night and go outside on the deck during the summer for a cigarette. I was a very heavy smoker.

Four miles on the treadmill this morning. (Bootser was yelling for breakfast at 4:00. I refuse to feed that early as it will just reinforce her behavior. So I got out of bed and went down to the basement. Figured dear Richard could deal with them at 5:00.)

Two miles over lunch.....a VERY warm and muggy two miles.

Thanks, Pam! I've decided I have a bit of a cold. :( Because of my asthma, colds easily can turn into bronchitis, so I have to take it easy. No walking for me today.

Karen and Karen, I hope you both feel better soon. Larry has a very bad chest cold and I have the bad allergies. So I am sympathetic!!! :hugs: :hugs:

Well, Pam... good for you that you gave that up. I am very proud of you because that is not easy. You had it bad if you had to get up in the middle of the night to smoke!!! Did Rick smoke too?

OK - exercise!! Yesterday I did a 10 mile bike ride!! See, this thread motivated me!! I am feeling it today though. I think today's bike ride will be 5 miles and easy going. We may get more storms so I will then run on the treadmill for 3 miles. I feel a bit lousy too - darn allergies.

Great thread for me..ty!  I am lucky - we have a treadmill, but after damaging my right knee over 5 years ago, and then learning that I have moderate to severe arthritis in both my knees (and bone spurs in one as well), I found I could not use the treadmill at its minimum speed.
I also have a stationary recumbent bike and this is what I'm back to using.  My goal this week is to use it at least 4 times.
Used it today for 24 minutes, and 3.7 miles.

I haven't been walking much lately at all
.

Anyway, I'm a nanny and they opened their pool today. Should be ready to swim in about a week. I love swimming!!! That should get me back on track with exercise
.

Do you have a walking meter that hangs on your side that tells you how far you walked ? They are great.
I don't have one, always wondered about the accuracy of them. I walk fast anyway so I know I got a good workout but it would be nice to know the distance!

When I am looking for a new walking route in the neighborhood I map it out in my car first so I can tell how many miles it is.

That's what I did to map out my new walking route for here at work. I used my car and figured out how many miles it was to this mark and then to that mark, and so on until I had a 3.5 mile route worked out.

I've had a couple pedometers, but I don't think they work that well. Mine usually tend to stop about midway through my walk.

Check out:  http://www.mapmywalk.com/  You can put in your zip code or city/area and it will help you get a rough idea of a route for walking, running, etc. It helped me out with the neighborhood here at work.

Four miles this morning on the treadmill.

Two miles outside over lunch....temp didn't seem as bad as it did yesterday.

That is GREAT!!!! Thanks for the link. :D Not sure I like the view of the bottom of a BIG dirty shoe on the home page but thank goodness, no doggie poop. :flail: :lol2: :lol3: I also have driven my car to get a walking route! I don't think the pedometers work well either, at least the one I had.

Just about to head out for my 10 mile bike ride. Of course that is an estimate and I really go on time - takes about 45 minutes. I really love my new town. It is a city filled with great parks that are all connected with bike/walking paths all paved. It makes it really fun and I can take a different route everyday.

Happy workouts everyone!!! :bigthumb:

Walked a slightly different route today for a longer walk, 42 min.

I've measured with my car before, can't seem to work the app well with my phone!
