Good morning! And TGIF!

Rick and I were talking last night and, somehow, we got on to the subject of breakfast cereals and what we ate when we were kids. He always liked Sugar Smacks and I was a Cap'n Crunch fan....just the regular Cap'n Crunch. I also liked Alpha-Bits.

Now I hardly ever eat cold cereal and Rick usually buys something fairly healthy. Tabby is on a Frosted Mini Wheats kick again, so a box usually ends up in our shopping cart for her.
Sometimes she likes Frosted Cheerios, too, and will help Rick finish his bowl. He only eats cold cereal on weekends....it's a flavored oatmeal during the week and Tabby will have nothing to do with oatmeal. Rick might eat a bowl of cold cereal at night as a snack if he's hungry for something sweet.

What cereal did you like as a child?

(I think a box of Cap'n Crunch might end up in our shopping cart next Monday night!
)

Lucky Charms.. but my mom would get mad at me because I'd pick out all of the marshmallows from the box and leave the grains, lol

I buy the Malt-o-Meal brand of froot loops. They are called Tootie Fruities. They are much cheaper and IMO taste much better.  Now I gotta buy some Cap'n Crunch, too.

My all-time favorite cereal as a kid was Frosted Flakes. I rarely got them though, my mother wouldn't buy cereals like that very often.

My mom wouldn't let us eat sugar cereal for meals. . .but sometimes she'd buy it for snacks/treats. I liked Cinnamon Toast Crunch best, and Cap'n Crunchberries. I tried Cinnamon Toast Crunch recently, and I don't know if the changed the formula or I just had a kid's taste buds back then, but it had a really weird chemical-y taste. I do still occasionally buy the Malt o' Meal version of Cap'n Crunchberries, though. I try not to eat colored foods or processed sugar junk, but now and then won't hurt. . .right? :lol3:

Peanut butter Captain Crunch and Lucky Charms. I always thought they looked like cat kibbles.

Does anyone remember Quisp cereal?

I do and I was going to say that but I couldn't remember the name of that cereal. It had a alien on the front of the box with a space ship right ? Blue box ?

Cheerios is what we all 3 ate when I was a small child, but being from the South it didn't take long to migrate to scrambled eggs, bacon and biscuits ;)

Do remember the 8 packs  little boxes of cereal they had ? You got to choose the best one and give your brothers the ones you didn't really like.

Corn pops and Smacks. I still like both very much. I like most cereals.

Lucky Charms...and they still make an excellent late night snack! I do love Cap'n Crunch, but it rips up the roof of my mouth.

They're magically delicious!!

Rick and I were talking about how Cap'n Crunch does that to the roofs of our mouths, too. Every time.

We're going for groceries tonight....I have a feeling that a box of Cap'n Crunch may end up in the cart.
