Hello All,
New here, just wanted to introduce myself and my little family...
Dr Fish (aka, Fishy, Fish-Man, Fella, Brother, Baby, Chunky, Handsome, Tubbah, etc etc etc!!!) is a neutered male domestic shorthair, about 12 years old, recently diagnosed diabetic (Nov. 2012). Adopted about 8 years ago from the Animal Refuge League in Westbrook Maine. Dr Fish is the most patient, sweet, loving creature that ever lived, which is not to say that he doesn't have a personality, or that he doesn't have his own agenda!!! Haha!! Since the diagnosis, we've been on a bit of a roller-coaster ride, but things are settling down a bit. He's very good to me, and always reminds me if I'm late with his insulin shots (or his meals!). He's a fantastic communicator... An old soul. But boy was he a feisty troublemaker in his youth!
Cyrus (aka Cy-Borg, Cy-Guy, Cy-Man, Cypooglish, Poog, Boo, etc...) is also a neutered male (Oops! He was "supposed" to be a girl...). He's a Maine Coon, but very small (about 9 pounds). He was also adopted, but from a friend of my father's who's cat had a litter of kittens around the time my other cat, Leetle, got hit by a car... Cyrus is kind of a nut-job, and still very young at heart. He is a strange fellow, sometimes I'm not sure if he's quite "all there," but we love him tremendously nevertheless. He has trouble maintaining his coat, and won't let me groom him, so he gets the "lion cut" a few times a year, and looks quite dapper, albeit way tinier!!!
So, those are my guys! I've had other cats in my life, but these two keep me plenty busy and plenty loved for now.
Looking forward to reading more and getting to know others out there...
