hey all. I'm new here and am having some problems with a new kitten i have taken in. One of my managers found 4 kittens in her barn and left them there for a few days when momma was killed by a dog. She wanted to just put them to sleep but i talked her out of it and one of my coworkers took 3 and the last one with no home is my little Flower. Shes all black with white little hairs on her belly and front legs (so CUTE). anyway, she was eating great (i got her thur of last week) and now will hardly eat anything. i want to say shes about 3 1/2-4 weeks old. very wobbly legs. she was feeding on the bottle and i tried transitioning her to wet food because her teeth are getting sharp and momma wouldnt let her still be nursing and now she wont eat wet food OR her bottle. shes getting weaker and weaker. any ideas on what to do? she also cries all the time even when feeding. ive been having to pee and poo her and she took her first poo last night since having her. (pees all the time)

thanks!! (excuse the boyfriend lol)

Welcome to the site and a big huge :thanks: for rescuing this little one, Flower and her littermates. Precious. I am going to ask that your thread be moved to our Kitten Care Forum. I think your kitten needs a vet for sure though. I would not wait. Kittens can go downhill very, very fast if they are unwell. Mega, mega vibes for little Flower and I do hope that you can get her some help fast. :cross: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

It is emergency now.  1. Make sure she is warm. Keep her perhaps inside your clothes, at your chest. Have some used clothes, she may pee... You can also massage her.

2.  Put in some sugar on her gum.  Best is wet dextrose sugar (=glucose). If you dont have it honey or white caro syrup is OK.  If you dont have nothing of such, use common sugar.

3. Fluid her up, forcefeed her water.  Lying on tummy, head up. Seems awkward, but it is so she lies with mom.

In the corner of the mouth, NOT down the neck...

If you cant get hold a a vet immediately, you can make a home made pedialyte.

1. 1 litre water

2. 1,5 soup spoon (15-18g) dextrose or honer or...

3.  1 spoon (3g)  kitchen salt

Boil upp stirring, let it be cooler body temp, give...

Works for kittens, children, etc etc...

A dutyful mom do give her tits even if she has teets, they are end weaned at 8-10 weeks, not earlier...

So continue with goat milk or kmr parallelly, till you are sure she eats properly and well.

A dropper is easier for them than a bottle.   A trick: held your hand over her, while she is eating this bottle...

But it seems something happened, so, a vet visit ASAP is in order.

The vet will at least fluid her up.

Perhaps even  feed her directly into the stomach  (not all vets know how to do it, but do not try yourself - difficult and dangerous if you dont know exactly how).

Good luck!
