It still gets nasty from time to time, largely because Mollipop seems to think that she needs to know where Muffin is at all times and Muffin gets tired of being stalked. And all Molli has to do is walk by her and Muffin starts snorting and hissing. But the last couple of nights, I've awakened to find Muffin in bed with me on my right side, all curled up under the covers. Mollipop is either curled up with me on my left side or she's lying up at my head on the pillow. She's not real happy about Muffin being there, but she is dealing....she has no choice really. But she's not amused in the slightest.

Last night, Muffin was on my right and Molli was on my left, all curled up in my arms and snuggled under the covers. Both of them were purring, so I had purring in stereo. They looked so cute. Rick came back to go to bed and he stopped dead. He couldn't believe what he was seeing! He asked, "OK, who are you two and what have you done with our girls??" Then Tabby decided to join the party after Rick came to bed, so she came up between us. That was enough to make Mollipop move up to the pillow and Tabby snuggled down under the covers and curled up next to Rick's back. She put her front paw on my shoulder and went to sleep. It wasn't too long after that that I fell asleep, too. Purring in triplicate! All three of them!

Compared to what's been going on in the house since Muffin came to live with us? I'll take them in bed with me anytime!

Sounds good. Angel and Tippy still don't like each other and Angel just keeps out of Tippy's way. Most fights occur at night --- but it's usually Angel and Tony. She takes out her frustrations on poor Tony!

I don't think they'll ever get to the point where they will like each other, but even toleration is better than all the yelling and screaming they were doing. The thing is....Mollipop will hear Tabby and Muffin chasing each other throughout the house and I know she wants to join them. I know she does. But as soon as she goes over to them, Muffin starts snorting and hissing now and won't have anything to do with Molli. Tabby and Mollipop still play quite a bit and I know Muffin wants to join in, but she stays away.

Even in bed, they glare at each other until I tell them to "deal". Then Molli will turn away and curl up with me. Muffin turns away, too, and curls up. But every once in awhile, they'll peek back just to see what the other one is doing. Then they'll start to purr and they'll finally go to sleep.

Two alpha girls. Both are totally mine. It's difficult. And I truly love them both.

:lol3: On Rick's comment coming into the bedroom!!!:clap::clap: AND adding in more claps for the girls !!!! :woohoo: :clap::clap: That is HUGE progress. I know how you feel, the happiness when two who have been at odds are all of the sudden "tolerating" each other. That is Perla and Wendall to a "T". Perla has finally after TWO YEARS stopped hissing, snorting and playing the fool when Wendall walks by. BUT on Perla's defense, Wendall is a little brat. :lol3: I don't think they will ever be friends but the tolerating part makes me more than hopeful. :D There was only one time when Perla AND Wendall happened to be on the bed while I was watching the evening news. I didn't move a muscle!!! I was frozen in SHOCK. I think my heart jumped for joy that night. This is a wonderful update on your girls, Pam! And, melt my heart on Tabby touching your shoulder as you drifted off to sleep. :happy3: :hugs: :rub:

I spoke too soon, way too soon. There was a major dust-up this morning at 4:30. Under the bed. I felt Muffin jump down off the bed, followed by Mollipop a few minutes later. And then the yelling and hissing began. They were knocking their heads against the bed springs. Not pretty. Got out of bed and I did some Mommy-yelling. Got them separated and gave everybody breakfast. Then went down to the basement to the treadmill. Rick said there were at least two hassles with them after I went downstairs. He had to get up and see what was going on....he said it sounded like they were going to kill each other. *shaking my head* One step forward, three steps back.

When I left for work, Muffin was sleeping in the bed and Molli was sitting on the other side of the bed watching her sleep. I left them and went to work.
I have an idea it wasn't pretty after I left.

Not to worry!!!!! Actually, :lol3:, I think this is a good thing. They are communicating!!!!!!!! And, good for Muffin taking a stand. I think they are on their way to the next level in their relationship. For them to be on the bed together after the "tiffs" is really a good sign. I have to laugh, so sorry. :lol3: :lol2: Molli watching Muffin sleep :flail: She can't figure out why Muffin has finally had enough of her and won't take it anymore. They are working their way to a more peaceful/trusting relationship. Testing to see how far (or not) things can go. It can sound so much louder and awful to us momma's when they are having these disagreements. Sometimes, Perla can be SO loud you would think she is being murdered. Most times they don't even touch each other. It is more screaming, batting, lunging and charging without any contact. Didn't anyone ever teach cats that it is not nice to scream and yell at each other? Can't they just settle things in a respectful and calm manner? :lol2: :not: :lol3: Hang in there, Pam. The girls are slowly going through this long process together and who knows, in the months to come they may surprise you with their friendship (on their terms, that is. :bigwink:).

I hope so, Lauren. *shaking my head* I get very frustrated with Molli sometimes and this "stalking" thing she has going. This morning, I walked into the bedroom and Muffin was laying in the one of the bedroom window sills, about half asleep. And Mollipop was on the floor right below her, just sitting there watching with those big eyes of hers. I shooed her away.

Right before I left for work, I went back and checked on them. I had to move Muffin out of the window, so I could shut it, so she just went over to the catnapper and lay back down again. And Molli was sleeping on my bed pillow.

Poor Molli. She just doesn't understand that I worship the ground she walks on. I love her dearly. She is so jealous. She didn't ask for this interloper to come into the house. And poor Muffin didn't ask to have her world uprooted either. I hope they can come to terms with this (for my sake, really....I hate the aggravation and I want all the kids to get along).

Dejolane, the end of our bed is a favorite spot with our cats, too.

You hit the nail on the head above........ it IS much more hard for us than them. And, for your sake, I DO hope that someday they will live in peace/harmony. I think it will happen. Wendall will do the exact same thing to Perla as Molli does to Muffin. Perla will be completely relaxed and napping up on the top of the cat tree. Wendall will go to the level below her and stare at her sleeping with the wheels in his little naughty mind concocting a plan of banter to harass and aggravate her. I have on numerous occasions had to quietly shoo him away all the while trying not to wake her. If she does awake and sees him there - OH MY GOD!!!!! The sounds that come out of my little princess. I know that they will never, ever fight. That is not what is going on. Wendall is a mischief maker and Perla makes a perfect target. :disa:
