Do you wear or carry a watch?

Seems with all the electronics we carry around, there's not much of need for wristwatches or timepieces, now they are more of an accessory or jewelry.

I've never worn a watch but used to get by looking for clocks and peeking at other people's wristwatches. These days I check my cell or iPod.

I've never worn a watch. I tried at one point when I was a teenager (because I felt like it was a grown up thing you were supposed to have) but I really didn't like it. I think part of the reason is because I am so left hand dominant that I needed it on my left wrist for it to feel comfortable, but then it would dig into my hand when I wrote (most people wear it on the opposite hand of that which they write with).

It's true now I just check my phone when I need to know what time it is. Not to mention every electronic device in the house has a clock on it so I feel like I'm constantly bombarded with time! The only time I wished I had one was when I was on a cruise just over a year ago. I didn't take my phone with me and the room didn't have any clocks. I never knew what time it was! I ended up buying a cheap "fashion" one at the duty free shop just so I didn't lose my bearings and, as always, I hated wearing it!

For those who do wear one, do you wear it on the hand you write with or the opposite? Just curious if I'm a freak or not.....

I have them and wear them. I'm right-handed and wear my watch on my left wrist.

Yesterday I forgot my watch and walked around all day feeling half-nekkid.

Being a teacher, I have to keep track of time in class, so I wear a wristwatch on my left wrist. I usually write with my right hand. I can't really pull out my smartphone to check the time while teaching, and I'm too aware of the old trick of kids setting the wall clocks ahead (so they can have a longer break or go home earlier) to rely on them.

I love watches! I must have over 20 now (and most needs batteries) I used to wear it on my right wrist, but now that I got a tattoo there, I don't wear it there and I keep forgetting to put it on my left wrist.. and eventually, never wore them again. Oops!

I only wear a watch when I go out. I have one that is silver and goldtone, one two that are tri color. Then I have one that is a 10K gold dress watch. The problem I have is the batteries in my watches don't last very long. I think I must short them out when I put my watch on.

I love watches. I wear one all the time. I don't rely on my phone for the time. Old habits die hard with me. I am right handed and wear it on my left wrist. I feel bare without a watch on when I go out, like Pam!! :lol3: half-nekkid!!!

I have 3 watches over the years and they all don't work. They are now in our safe till I get them fixed. I have a Sieko which my late mother in law got me I really want fixed.

I used to wear a watch, usually a $20 Timex from Walmart, usually a man's watch with as many fancy gadgets on it as possible, as I didn't like the silly delicate things women wore :lol3:. But I can't stand the slimy sweaty feeling my wrist gets under the watch, ugh. So I was always taking it off. Tried to put it on my belt loop, and did that for a while. Now I just look at my cell phone.

I wore it on my left hand, write with my right hand.

I'm right handed and wear my watch on my left wrist. I have a fancy diamond one I wear for special occasions (so never) and daily wear my cheap timex that can light up at night. I HAVE to know what time it is in the middle of the night, especially at a motel when traveling. (half the time theirs aren't lit at night) I'm an early morning person, so I might get up at 2 or 3 AM if I don't know what time it is, instead of my usual 4 or 5. I've always been an early riser, but now that it's summer I want to do all my outside work before noon and 100 degrees. I'm already on fire from this nasty menopause, I swear i'm going to die when I have a hot flash in 100 degree weather!

I always wear a watch.  I wear it on my left wrist and I am right handed.  I got tired of the deal with the batteries so I got a Citizen Eco Drive.  It recharges from the light including indoor lighting.

I never wear a watch anymore. When I did, I wore it on my left wrist and I am right-handed.

The day following my retirement in 2006 .. I removed the only nice wristwatch I've ever owned and have never worn another

I've never worn a watch; I can't stand the feeling of one on my wrist(or any jewelry for that matter).

That used to happen to me all the time - electric watches would stop as soon as I put them on. Apparently that's not too uncommon a problem. Now I put plastic film on the back of the casing or if possible have a jeweler replace the back with a plastic one, or I simply buy a titanium watch for everyday use. For some reason it doesn't happen with titanium, and there's the added benefit of it being hypoallergenic.

I might try the plastic film thing. My husband has even handed me his watch when he needed to keep it dry. I put them on and they stop.

I hate going somewhere and have to ask someone what time it is. I 'm getting my watch fixed ASAP.
