Oh disgusting!

I remember the time I went into a restaurant and found a fly in my broccoli and cheese soup. They gave me a new one and my meal free.

OMG...I would be one pissed Momma!

I've been fairly lucky...I haven't found anything super disgusting in my food. I've found hair in my food before & once in Junior High I found a thumb tack in my salad. Maybe I'm just lucky when it comes to that kind of stuff, but it does make me wonder if I just missed it somehow!

Every Sunday, my local paper publishes the Health Department's inspection results, with special attention to the ones who lose their permits. So far, none of the places that I eat at have failed their inspections.

There is a carneceria (Mexican meat market), near my house, that shows up, in that column almost every month. How many chances should a food establishment get, before it is shut down?

Last week, one restaurant got busted, when the health inspector saw a roach crawl out of a soda-dispenser spout. The owner says its was because none of his employees speak English and they can't understand the health regs. HE speaks English and HE is in charge and should see to it that his restaurant meets the standards.

Icky!!!! I can't imagine having to bite into anything that gross!!! That would be awful! I think, if you are on the "list" every month, you should be shut down until you all clean up! Just my opinion tho.

In Toronto thelocal restaurants have to post in their front window for everyone to see their heath inspection notice. I won't go and eat somewhere that doesn't say "good" on the notice.

Two restaurants in the Asheville area (near where I live) have had to close down due to workers testing positive for Hepatitis A and so a lot of people are going to the heath dept for shots.

Good golly!
