new kitten wont let me touch her :(

i have just got a 9 week old kitten but she keeps hissing at me when i go near her or try and pick her up im not sure why she does it and she not really eating or drinking but keeps crying i really need your help what to do thank you .

Is she home raised and propoperly socialized, or is she one rescued from outside?

Both will be wonderful friends, but it is easier with the home raised.  

She doesnt eat much but she IS eating some?? right?   I mean, sometimes they arent properly weaned when they are send to a new home.   If she doesnt really know how, it will be another chapter.

OK, begin with making sure she is comfortable and safe.  Confine her in one smallish room, which will be her safety room  Give her a couple of comfortable laying places.  At least one of the where she can hide somewhat.  A cat igloo, a sideturned cardboard box.   Be sure her litter is non clumping.

Make sure she is not stressed in this room, not yet anyway!  Just you her Mom.

Be sure she sees it is you who come with her food.  Talk aplenty with a soft, friendly voice. You can sing softly too if you are good at it.

Dont take her up your arm before she is ready, if she dont want too.  Let her land a 24 hours, max a couple of days, shouldt take longer with a kitten.

Sit on the floor, or even lay down.  You can perhaps have a matterass there?  You can read, use your cell phone and surf...   And the kittens is perhaps hiding in the cat igloo.  OR hopefully begins to be interested in you, making small surveys around, perhaps even wandering on you.

A trick used by some of our forumites, is to wrap her up in a soft towel, and carry around at your chest, hearing your hear, and you talking sweetly and singing softly. Half an hour, perhaps a whole hour...
