no one said that it was God's fault...but the people who believe way too strongly that they are the only ones that can be correct.

Simply because there are anti Christianity sentiments in this forum and board, lets face it whatever gets posted about wicca gets praises whatever gets posted about Christianity gets critisised, simple.

I am here with the minority...

wait, so your anti-pagan sentiments AREN'T flaming, because you feel you are in the minority? have you seen all the posts asking for prayers and praising God in this place? i'd say it's a pretty even split.

OK, Here is your original post.

Its just a ploy to get children involved in witchcraft at a very young age. I would not buy them for any children nor recomend them.

Is it any wonder that almost every TV show now days even cartoons have a witchcraft ub=nderlaying tone?, all this is done to desensitice people to witchcraft and its evils. And it has been successfull...just count the flames I'll get for posting my views!...lol

There it is.

I am not Wiccan, Pagan or anything else for that matter. I'm what's known as an agnostic. I do take issue with generalized statements such as the one you made. I have friends that are Wiccan, Christian and just about every religion you can think of.

and quite honestly, having studied a fair portion of the world's religions, out of the monotheistics, Islam is the most respectable of them all...and like Judaism and Christianity, it has the same God....Allah is the same as God in arabic...it just distinguishes which one you are talking about.

WRONG, allah and Jehovah are not the same, because GOD and Jesus are the same, To the muslim god is just god and to say anything else is blasphemy.

Arabic has 2 words for God, allah and Raab.

Go and preach Christianity or your chosen beleif system in in the middle of Saudi Arabia, and after you get thrown in jail and beat up and what not come back and tell me its the most respectable one.

try not being christian in a highschool and being called a satanist every day, having people trying to beat you up and giving you hell in general....VERY humane... there's very little love that christians' preach about being practiced...i don't blame it on the religion...i blame it on the people. the same goes for the Islamic "episodes" you are siting...it's not the teachings of Islam to do that, but how people choose to interpret...much like the people who killed abortion clinic doctors felt that it was justified in biblical teachings.

where did you get your "facts" about Islam, btw? and have you actually done an objective study on religions and their teachings? what you find may surprise you.

and in the original texts for the old testament..God had several names...one being El (the main BABYLONIAN deity), another being Jehovah, and another being Yaweh... the Koran and the old testament tell the same stories, just in a different manner and perspective... if you want, i can suggest the titles of good books so that you can have a better understanding of the history of your religious texts and where they came from... there are a wealth of them to choose from. and you can compare the three major monotheistic religions of the world.

I get my information from primary sources such as my Arabic friends whoARE muslim, from theology and theology proper and study on canonicity of the word.

About your bad treatment, its sad to hear but you're right in that its the people and its unfortunate you had to come accross heartless Christians. When I was in highschool we had a girl in my year who was into witchcraft ans stuff and yes she was the outcast, but you know what whenever I had a chance to talk to her I would treat her with respect and dignity, mind you my HS was a secular one.
i also have Arabic friends who ARE Muslim--came from the middle east various countries, and like christians, they all disagree on theological details...and no two see it all the same way...that's not what is meant by primary source material.

i'm looking for OBJECTIVE research, just the facts, no emotional ties to the information attached.

my story about highschool is ALARMINGLY common...and i'm sure others would be willing to tell of it. it wasn't a unique phenomena. it happens every day in every school across this country and across the world.

My research has no emotional ties to it, just facts.
the didvinding line between Christianity and islam is Jesus, we claim Jesus as God, they claim Jesus as a prophet. We believe in the trinity, they find the trinity a blasphemy.

The Binle has many names for God in the old testament, El-ohim. El-shaddai and many more,Yhawe as the Jews called Him out of respect.

Yes Islam does contain some of the material of the Old Testament but it adulterated, unlike the Bible which incorporates the full Torah. The koran is also known for its anti Christian and anti simetic tones, and actually names us by name, calls us infidels.

This forum is a place for members to carry on mature and extended conversations about issues in the news. Sometimes debates may become more in depth and heated than in our regular Lounge, so here are a few guidelines for participation, as suggested by TCS members. This forum is probably going to turn out to be more serious, and it will probably be a place where controversial opinions really get rolling. This forum WILL be a more aggressive place. Members may chose not to participate, knowing it might get "hot" up front.

1. First and foremost, TCS Rules will apply. Please read them thoroughly. TheCatSite.com Forum Rules

2. Our membership consists of people from around the globe. Opinions of people from all cultures should be treated with equal respect.

3. Have a sense of humor! Or walk away before posting, if you need to get your temper under control.

4. Any members who cannot conduct themselves appropriately can and will be restricted from posting in this forum.

Thank you!

I think it’s important to remember that what is civil in daily face-to face life is not necessarily what is civil on an Internet forum. On the Internet the only thing that others can judge you by is your words. When you start saying that witchcraft is evil (quoting your post from Oct. 9 at 10:28 pm- “Is it any wonder that almost every TV show now days even cartoons have a witchcraft ub=nderlaying tone?, all this is done to desensitice people to witchcraft and its evils. And it has been successfull...just count the flames I'll get for posting my views!...lolâ€) , it appears that you are making a judgement about those who believe in witchcraft. It’s perfectly acceptable to say that you think witchcraft is wrong, or it’s against your religious beliefs, but when you start making judgements of this type it appears that you are directly insulting those who hold these beliefs. Also, when you ignore when others try to explain why your understanding is incorrect (quoting your post from Oct. 12 at 11:57 pm “Alistair Crowley, Anton Lavey - Same thing.â€), it comes across as being combative and far from civil. Once again, disagree with what others say. But don’t blow them off-that is being very not civil.

So I should be making allowance's for people's sensitivity? what about mine?, when anti Christianity sentiments are allowed to be used rampantly without any "moderator" intervenance and all of a sudden a criticism about witchcraft comes out, all of a sudden every mod comes out of the woodwork to deffend, it makes people think that there is a double standard here.

Yes I do beleieve withcraft is evil end of story.
Not every mod comes out of the woodwork. As a born-again Christian, I have to admit that yes, sometimes I feel in the minority here. But my belief is private, it is not a religion for me, but a relationship with God. I see the abundance of wiccans on this board, but I try not to judge what I read, and to be honest, I don't read many of the wiccan threads because it just simply does not interest me. I was raised by athiests, came to my own with God in junior high school at a Dave Wilkerson Youth Rally. I used to pass Bibles and tracts out at the pier, witness while traveling across country hitchiking and worked at a Christian coffee shop for 2 years booking Maranatha groups.

Again, my witness, is my own, my walk is my testimony and actions speak louder than words. I do practice religious tolerance, I have learned over time that pushing one's belief on people who are just not receptive, usually ends in tribulation and not blessings. Everyone has to make their way to their beliefs and no one religion has it over the other one IMO. Satanism is bad, I know this for a fact, but I don't equate most of the wiccans on this board with satanism. The wiccans are following an old way, it's not my cup of tea but I see no harm in their beliefs (from what I have been able to learn on my own when researching this).

MaryAnn, the world (and Jesus) needs more Christians like you. Blessings to you, now and always.
