Here is my tribute to dearest sweetest Toby who was the best little boy in the world. We took him to the vet yesterday as his little body was too sick to hold his beautiful bright spirit, and we had to help him, as much as it broke our hearts and devastated us to let him go. Sweetest Toby you are now free of pain and I hope you will wait for me to live another life as I felt so very blessed to have you with me in this one.

Thank you to everyone who voted for him in the December Cat Calendar, it meant a lot as we knew he was not much longer for this world. Our dear boy did get to do all his favorite things before he left us, altho I think we all knew the most special things were just being together and cuddling in front of the TV, sharing our portillo burgers and sushi, chasing the fresh sheets we put on the bed and laying in the sunlight, enjoying the daily routine of life and feeling safe and loved.

oh Barb, I don't even know what t say. He was so handsome and so special. Tell him to find my Midnight and make sure she's okay. Maybe they can become friends and take care of each other there. I know how much this hurts, it's like nothing you've ever felt before and wish you didn't have to. It's a nightmare. Just know that we are here for you now more than ever. You'll need that support system even more now.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I can tell from your posts that he was a very special boy, much loved, and will be greatly missed. I wish there was something I could say to lessen your pain, but I know there is not.

Rest in peace, sweet Toby.

Oh Barb, I can barely type through the tears. He was such a beautiful special boy. I know your pain feels bottomless now; I also know it will ease with time, but that's of little comfort now. :( :heart2: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

I hope you find some comfort knowing that you're surrounded by love, and Toby will always live on in your heart. I know he'll always be with you, and I'm sure you'll be reunited again. :heart2: :heart2: :heart2:

Our hearts go out to you.  God bless you for helping him to the other side to run free and roll in the green grass at the bridge.

There is no greater love than that.

RIP beautiful boy.  You are cherrished.

My heart goes out to you, the pain is almost unbearable at first. Let us share your grief, take whatever comfort you can from our support.Bless you for giving him such a wonderful, happy life. You hurt so much because you loved so much. He is a special angel now at the Rainbow Bridge, he is comforted by the many who went before him. RIP beautiful Toby!

My condolences, Barb. I was following your thread about Toby's last weeks with a heavy heart. It's so painful to lose a longtime companion, and Toby was a very special one. RIP, Toby, you were loved so much. Watch over your mom from the Rainbow Bridge and visit her in her dreams.

Dear Barb,

I'm so very sorry about Toby.

I began reading your thread yesterday afternoon. I had just gotten home from Chicago Veterinary Specialty Center and had been told my boy, Simon, most likely has bladder cancer (3 masses shown on bladder). I saw in your thread that you had a lot of problems with Chicago Veterinary Specialty Center. I would never think of asking you a question re: Toby's treatment so soon after his passing, but we are going to have to make decissions soon, are scared to death and you have a great deal of experience. We already don't have a great deal of trust in Chicago Veterinary Specialty Center . When we made the ultra sound appt. we were told we could make the appt. in Chicago or at their Buffalo Grove site, same ultra sound, same doctors. Well, after Simon's ultra sound we were told he will most likely need another one in Buffalo Grove because their ultra sound machine isn't as clear as the one in Buffalo Grove. I told them that was frusttrating because we were told it was the same ultra sound and same doctors at both sites and now we have to put Simon through more stress and pay more money. So, Barb, do you have any suggestions on where to go for cancer treatment for an incredibly wonderful and special boy in Chicago? Again, I am so sorry to ask you a question so soon after Toby and so very very sorry he had to leave you. I am also sorry if it wasn't appropriate to ask a question on Toby's Crossing the Bridge Site, I am just so sad and scared right now.

Beth
