Does your fur baby have a feeding schedule?

I have been looking around on various websites about what and how frequently to feed your cats. There seems to be tons of conflicting information in reguards to feeding schedules so i'd thought I would ask this wonderful community if and what their feeding schedules are for their cats. Right now my hubby and I are on a midnight schedule (eek it sucks :p) I used to feed my kitties wet two times a day and leave out a bit of dry for a part of the day as well. Now I am thinking two wet feedings are too much and maybe I should cut down to one? I am new to being a kitty mom so I don't yet know the ins and outs of feeding schedules. A question I have is: if you have two cats one that is a 9 months and the other that is 1 year and 9 months what type of feeding schedule (wet & dry included) would you have for them? (note: they have top quality wet and dry food with water fountain water bowl available all day).

Thank you for your thoughts/advice!!

Wet food is healthier for cats. If you want to cut down I would lessen the amount of dry food, and add more wet. But at their ages I wouldn't cut their calories at all.

A good feeding schedule is after you wake up, after work and right before you go to bed. Mine are on all wet and eat 5-6 oz. a day.

I feed mine 3 times a day too, but don't have any growing "toddlers" amongst them
.  I also feed only wet (raw actually).   Mine get breakfast soon after I get up, lunch about 7 hours later, (because I'm home then), and dinner about 10:30 p.m to tide them over until breakfast.  If I'm up still up for a few hours later, I might give them just a bite or two of Wholelife freeze dried chicken so I can sleep in an extra 1/2 hour
.

I also work night shift and have 3 under 2 yr old kitties. I feed mine 3 times a day. Breakfast is when I get home in the morning, between 7:30 and 8am, lunch is between 1p and 2p, dinner is when I get up to get ready for work around 8 or 9pm.
They are on an all wet diet, and the youngest is 10 months old. They eat approx 6oz each/per day plus freeze dried chicken as toppers. As stated above, wet is much healthier for our kitties, and I would definitely not cut back on how much wet they are currently eating. It also provides them with much needed water. The ideal would be to replace the dry they are getting with another wet meal. I know you said you have reading various websites, here is http://www.catinfo.org/, it is one of the best regarding cat nutrition. Hope this helps.

Jinx isn't on a schedule. We toss some food in his bowl if we notice him sitting by it. Just a small handful, his dry food is floated in water.

He was on a schedule when he was on raw, and was fed 4 times a day (morning, noon, dinnertime, bedtime), about 1oz at each meal.

Of course, someone is always home at my house, so it works to just feed him little bits throughout the day.

I have two 8-year-old girls, Maya and Mira, and almost 10-month-old Bella. Early morning snack at 6:00 am of EVO dry (one tablespoon), breakfast (wet) at 10:30 am, lunch (wet) at 3:00 pm, supper (wet) at 7:30 pm, bedtime snack of EVO dry (one tablespoon) at 10:30 pm. This works well. No one is hungry. Every one is at normal weight.

yes, mine have a schedule.

8:00 am:  breakfast - wet food 1/2 packet. I add warm water to make gravy & more moisture

1:00 pm:  lunch - tube packet of salmon or chicken paste (like yoghurt consistency) sprinkled with a few dental treats (a biscuit style treats)

around 3:00 pm:  snacks - chew snacks (for the teeth)

6:00 pm:  supper - wet food 1/2 packet w/ warm water mixed in

free fed dry food = 1/2 cup ea. for the day to snack on if the want or get hungry. (never gets completely eaten)

I'm retired and have the time to do lunch. If I were still working obviously lunch would probably be the dry.
