We've been struggling to keep food down (or sometimes up) since I moved to this town a few months ago. But I think we've finally found a way to do it! It has now been close to 6 weeks I belive since my little boy cat has thrown up, or been constipated, and both now have normal looking poops.
Solid dry foods didn't work, wet foods didn't work, and fresh food didn't work, I've had to use a combination of all them. Even the vet recommended brands and such just made the boy sick and the girl ridiculously gassy. So after trying what seemed like every food we could find... we seem to have settled on mixing a little of a science diett dry and wet a few times a day, and boiled...simmered.... idk, water cooked chicken breasts with rice for dinners. No more free feeding, no matter how "easy" my husband makes it out to be. Last check up they're weights were pretty well on target, little boy finally lost a couple pounds and the girl gained the 4 she needed. They've also been cut off of store bought cat treats, and I've been giving them diffrent kinds of meat when they're particularly well behaved. Aaannd... I stopped giving them the sink water and am buying them their own drinking water. (Found outt how heavily clorinated our water is here that is "safe to drink" )
Indoor cats are soooo much diffrent to me than an outdoor cat, my goodness.

Have you tried raw? That might be worth a try.

The boiled chicken and rice, is that only about 15% of the diet? If it is more than that then you may have to look at supplementing with things like taurine.

I want to feed them raw, I just have to work over to it, anytime I do any change they get pretty sick almost immediantly =/
Yeah they don't eat a lot of chicken, the girl doesn't like it and will pick around it unless she is really hungry. The boy is piggy and will overear if he can...and make himself sick and puke.
