I started my 1 year old Taz on a wet food only diet a couple days ago.  I noticed this morning his stool was pretty loose.  Is this a result of the diet change?  Is this normal?  If so, how long will it last?

It's very likely the case, especially if you didn't wean him off what you were feeding him gradually.  It could also be that what you're now feeding him is too rich for his system.  What were you feeding him and what are you feeding him now?  Have you tried going back to what you were feeding and gradually introducing the new food?

I was feeding him the Blue Longevity, I had picked it because it was grain free and a smaller kibble. However it was nearly all fish. I was advised that eliminating his dry food would be best and that it would be ok to take him off cold turkey. Before the change he would free feed on kibble throughout the day and he would get half a can of the Roysl Canin kitten formula in the morning before I go to work. Now, for the last couple days he's been on all wet food and no dry. He gets a can in the morning about 6:30 before I leave for work. Then he gets another can between 5 & 6 when I get home. Then I put down another can around 11pm before bed. I've heard that it's ok to leave food down for a few hours, so the nighttime one is snacked on through the night. I've been trying out different wet foods in addition to his Royal Canin. So far I've given him Wellness which he likes, Purina One, which he sniffed and walked away from, and Iams, which he's eaten partially, but left the rest. I really don't want to put him back on the fishy kibble if I can avoid it.

Just get him on a probiotic during the food transition. That will help his digestive system adjust to the better diet. Congratulations on getting your kitty on a wet diet.

Wet food is best for kitties, but sometimes they don't adjust well going so quickly.  Transition slowly and your kitty should do better.
