A young couple found a very affectionate, very thin snowshoe cat 3 days ago near their apartment downtown. It's a very busy area of mostly business'.
They brought her in and fed her, she was famished and they said she didn't use the litterbox for 2 days. They took her to the local humane society who scanned her for a chip and she had none. Their advice was to either put her back where they found her or find her a home. They already had two cats and cannot afford a third.
Hence, where I came in.
She is clean, no signs of fleas or mites. She is quite thin. Inhaled some wet food and kibble when I got her home. She seems young, her teats are "baby teats". Never had kittens before that's for sure. If she's pregnant, then she is "just" pregnant. I cannot see a spay scar but then again...
My plan so far is keep her until I know if she is pregnant or not. I figured it should be obvious with the next few weeks. I'm going to continue to look to see if someone is missing her. However, you would think after 3 days, they would check the humane society. Especially because she is a purebred.
If she is, then I'll let her have her kits and find homes for them and then have her spayed. If she is spayed, I will just find her a home. (maybe mine )
I think I'll take her to my vet and get her checked out next week.
