My cat doesn’t have a liver issue. He suffers form seizures, and he’s taking Phenobarbital twice a day.  The Phenobarbital will hurt his liver with time so he’s taking Denamarin just to help his liver. The Denamarin requires the removal of the food for 7 hours and my cat is the kind that eats small portions at a time. Sometimes he doesn’t eat well during the day and wants food at night. My question before I speak to the vet. Is there another medication for the liver that doesn’t require the removal of the food?

One of my cats is on denamarin and we were told ideally it would be given on an empty stomach. It that wasn't practical for us. So he gets it with a meal and his liver values are much improved, back to perfect actually so I would suggest you talk to your vet about the realities of your situation and see what he or she says.
