Both of my cats are indoor cats. I was wondering if you have a hard time picking out can cat food. I went to FAMILY Dollar yesterday and found Indoor can cat food for 2 for $1.00 so I bought 2 cans and then also 4 cans of regular Friskes too.Which can cat food do you buy and which is better for an indoor cat ? Bella is 3 yrs and Thunder is 10 months. I also put of dry for them.

"Indoor" cat food is really a maketing tool as is "weight management" food.  Most of these foods are full of carbohydrates and perhaps a little lower in fat.  They are only slightly less in calories.

Kibble/dry food is especially high in carbohydrates.  Cats need more fat in their diet than humans, and they have no need for carbohydrates in their diet.

Friskies PATE (not gravy or any other style) is a decent food; it is relatively low in carbohydrates.  Fancy Feast Classic is also decent for its price.

Try to buy a grain free/high protein/low carb food.  Note:  just because a food says it is grain free doesn't mean it is low in carbohydrates; often, high carb vegetables (sweet potato, potato, pea) and other vegies are added.  When reading the ingredients, the first two or three should be a named protein.

When I give the cats a can,I split it up cause sometimes they don't eat what's in their own bowl and just lets it sit for about 3 hours til one comes back and takes the others. But I will try Friskies Pate Thanks.

My cats LOVE the Indoor Friskies for some reason. . .I think it's the greens. So I buy them some now and then as a treat. But as far as I can tell, there's no difference (besides the greens) between the Indoor and the regular gravy flavors (they're all high in carbs). I think it's purely marketing. But, yeah, for everyday feeding, the pate flavors are better---way lower in carbs. And I feel like you get a better value for your money with the pate flavors, not paying for all that gravy.
