Hello Everyone,
I am a fairly new mom to an all black cat I lovingly named Taz. He was a rescue in our church parking lot at only 4 weeks old. I named him Taz after the Tazmanian Devil since he was zipping through the room like a tornado when he was a kitten. He has been the absolute love of my life and I can't imagine not having him. While we've had cats in the family throughout my life, Taz is MY first cat. He is strictly indoors and because he likes to get into things he is still restricted to two rooms of the house. Sometimes we will let him roam free throughout the downstairs but we keep a pretty close eye on him. He was a lover of chewing on cords, though it seems he's finally outgrown that thank goodness. He sleeps with me at night, which nowadays is the only cuddle time I get from him. He still likes to "nurse" (make bread) from my mom, which we think is because he was taken from his mom too early. He just turned a year old on April 15, so he's officially graduated to adult food. I am currently having some concerns with his behavior. Based on some info I have read from other forums, I'm afraid he may have FHS. I'm so grateful and excited that I found this site as I am finding out a lot of things I never knew about. In terms of his feeding, I'm discovering that what I've been giving him is actually not good for him. This site is really a godsend for me because I was this close to taking him to the vet. Now that I have an idea of what might be wrong I can start trying different things to make it better. Thank you in advance for all the future support I know I'll be receiving from all of you.
