My female cat had a litter of kittens about 2 weeks ago and one of them has a deformed leg (it looks like it grew backwards). Im not a millionaire but knowing an estimate of what Im going to pay would be a big help. Also if anyone can help me when to schedule his surgery. I have an appointment with my regular vet 2 weeks from now. Also any tips on how to pick an orthopedic vet? Thanks a lot!

Hi-

I see you are in NY.  Where abouts?  My kitty Jill had her hind leg amputated 5 months ago (osteosarcoma, bone cancer).  I didn't pick the orthopedic surgeon, her general vet did, but I can tell you she did a TERRIFIC job.  I am in the city, on the west side.  I know the surgeon that did her surgey works with a TON of the vets here.  Her name is Dr. Jane Kosovosky.

Ok!  I am from Long Island (Oceanside) but my parents live in Plainview now - I have heard good things about the surgeon at Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview.

As for costs, Jill's leg amputation cost around 1900$ and that was with a 3 night stay at the vet.  Please let me know if you have any other equestinos
