We got our manx boy a week ago off a lady who said too me "he has diarrhea" I was like, fine I can deal with that, so we went to pick him up and there was an un-holy stench coming from him. GOt him home and a white pus was leaking from his anal glands so the lasy picked him up and took him to the vet and he had an anal gland infection so he got a shot of antibiotics that will last about 2 weeks, the pus and horrible stench stopped but then came the runs, it was just squirting out everywhere, now with added blood, so we took him to the vet again and got some pills to target bad bacteria in the stomach and some special food. The diarrhea seemed to clear up but now we have ANOTHER problem, the poo is thick and sticky and squeezes out like a frozen yoghurt tube and just stays there, and crusts over his bum hole, so i have to clean it up and pull it off and his bum is very sore red and aggitated. It goes everywhere because it just stays on his bum. It is one thing after the other but at least he is getting the hang of the litter box now, he is happy and runs around like a mad man and has a huge appitite, his back legs are fine and he is a rumpy but has an ever so slight nub of a tail that you can only feel but not see. Sadly at the moment he is locked in the laundry off our room because of the mess he makes. Can anyone help us? we can't afford to go to the vet anymore. Stressed and tired and want him to get better :(

Poor little guy. Sounds like his poo is starting to firm up and it will just take a bit more time for it to get solid. I had a kitten who's bum got sore also from the constant loose poo sticking to the fur on his tail and the rear of his legs. I washed it off with his bum under warm running water without wiping it too hard. Really that's the best you can do till the stools firm up. Then he will heal just fine. Good luck with him, keep us posted.

What are you feeding him? He may not be able to digest grains which is often in the vet food. A grain free or raw diet often helps cats with digestive problems.

For now you may want to add some canned pumpkin ( not pie filling) and a human probiotic to his food. Slippery elm bark also helps and you can get it at a health food store.

Tailless cats unfortunately often do have a problem with bowel control. Their hind parts and anal muscles may be weak. Did the vet not give you any advice on this? The lack of a tail may be only part of a deformity that affects other parts. Is he a pedigree Manx or the only tailless one in the litter?
