Sophie the pregnant abandoned cat

Hello.  Sophie and I are new here.  Have been reading on the site and found a lot of useful knowledge, thank you

I found Sophie 2 weeks ago under my back porch stairs.  Someone had either put her there, or she found her way there.  Either way, she is here now.  She looked pregnant when I found her, now she really looks pregnant.  I have not had much experience with pregnant cats.  When I found her she weighed 8lbs now she weighs 10.  She had not been under the stairs long, as she was not thin.  She is the sweetest little gal.  I keep thinking that any day she will have kittens, but nothing yet.  She is on kitten food and eating and drinking well.  I do have plenty of pictures  Just trying to figure out how long we have to go.

Can you feel on her tummy? They say you can feel the kittens move about two weeks before delivery... Otherwise, it is the a unknown, as for many of our forumites.

Yeah, please take pics.  Sophie is in this little pic?  I think she may have the so called Van pattern, after the Turkish Van breed, who are quite common in Turkey, but unusual outside.

But the pattern as such isnt that unusual in USA and Europe.

Thank you.  Yes, actually I did see and feel the babies about a week ago I believe.  They are still moving around.  I think she would rather play with our little chi than have the babies

Yes, that is her in the picture.  She is a very sweet girl.  These pics are from today.  I'm not sure what the v you are talking about is

I just have to say that I looked up the van pattern, and how you saw it from that tiny picture I will never know  She does have a black smudge on the top of her head and some creamy golden color.  I also ruffled her tail and she has the creamy golden color there also under the white.

I guess I am too busy watching her ballooning belly to notice

I would recommend a trip to the vet if she's not already been.  That way the vet will be familiar with her if you should have any problems.  Also, the vet might be able to give you a rough estimate on how far along she is.  Also, you might want to start feeding her some kitten food to help boost her nutrition since she's pregnant and will soon be nursing.

That's a very good idea, thank you  She has been getting kitten food for a couple weeks now so we are good there.  Every day is one day closer I guess
