Happy Sunday!

What was your favorite toy as a child?

I loved Barbies. The Easy Bake oven was fun too.

I don't think they had Barbies when I was a kid......but I would have hated them...lol.  My mom bought me beautiful dolls, but I buried them in the backyard because they were "little dead people".  Mom was not too thrilled.

My much older brother bought me cool stuff tho.....like the BB gun and the bicycle.  My favorite thing tho was my Siamese cat, Mei Wah.

We didn't have many toys. Our favorite thing to do was paper dolls. We were given the old Sears catalogues. We cut a paper doll, then found clothes to cut that would it it. Sometimes we even drew our own on paper and colored them. We used cardboard boxes for houses. We cut paper strips for the walls to divide rooms. Then we cut furniture from the catalogue for the rooms. It entertained me and my sisters for hours.

Hmm....  I'll say my doll house my Grandpa built me.  He made one for all of his granddaughters plus a few others.  It had electric lights, wallpaper, carpeting and between he and my Gram they made furniture and curtains.  I loved that thing.  Even through high school I would decorate it for Christmas every year.  I have it stored at my Mother's house for now.  I'd bring it to my house; but I need to make sure I have a safe corner for it first.

Another vote for my dollhouse. I absolutely loved it and when I was a teenager I gave it to a little girl that I babysat for.

flexi blocks.  Any lego type that was not part of a themed set.  When I was younger it was play food set.  Always wanted to get a fake kitchen but never did get one.

That's really sweet that your Grandpa built you a dollhouse. I always wanted one.

I think it had to be my Huffy bike. It had a banana seat and a high bar in the rear.

My favourite toy was a Barbie doll house my sister built for me.
She made it all out of wood and it had these cool stairs and plush faux-fur-like carpet and pretty wallpaper. It was like a normal house, not all pink and purple! She also built 3 wooden beds and 2 dressers with working drawers and little wooden knobs to open them. I still have one bed and one dresser; I don't know what happened to the rest but they were found in the attic of my parents' house after my father died.

Toy horses. I had a whole collection of them in various sizes.
I had shelves going around my entire room filled with toy horses in their boxes. I was really into Breyer horses for the longest time. Now my little sister has them and maybe one day they will be worth some money??

Yup, I liked my barbies too. I didn't have a Barbie house though, so would use things like shoe boxes for their beds, & shoes, or roller skates as their car. LOL!

I also used to love my Light Bright!!! I used to love creating a design, & then turning the lights off to see it in the dark!

The Easy Bake oven, was the one I always wanted, but never had.

I do treasure it still.  He built all the granddaughters cradles when we were little too.  Dollhouses when we got a bit bigger.  He was always in his woodshop with projects.  I actually have a picture of DD as a newborn inside that doll cradle.

I had an old suitcase as a house for my barbie!  It was awesome!  It was a small, hard, green leather one.  Like avocado green.  It had a diamond shaped mirror in it and when you opened it the lid stood upright and it make a great place for Barbie to sleep or put some of her things.  My cousin and liked to bring our Barbies to Gram's house to play; so it was great for that too.

Either my Suzy Smart doll or my Easy Bake oven.

And books. I was such an avid reader when I was a kid and my parents were always willing to buy me books. So did my Grandmother.
