I have 3 feral kittens I have raised since they were about 4 weeks after Mum left them and took off.  One is very tame and will come inside for cuddles and a laze around, the other two are not so trusting.  My problem is with the little girl.  A couple of weeks ago I noticed she was leaking clear fluid from her vagina.  This problem came and went and I presumed she was just not emptying her bladder fully or she was stressed.  Today I noticed that she has a large amount of dried mucous around her vagina area.  My problem is that she will not let me close enough to get her and I think if I did manage to get a hold of her I would end up shredded. Therefore vet treatment isn't an option either as she would have to be sedated to get her there.

Does anyone know what could be causing this.  I have never had a female kitten before.  Both the boys are in perfect health.

Thanks in advance

This is surely a vet errand! Asap. Find a vet who is used to work with ferales. (ask rescue groups or shelters around, whom they do recommend). The vet can also sedate her before the examination. Good if the vet knows beforehand what is waiting.

Make sure you know what the carrier etc weigh, so they can weigh her in the carrier, and thus know how much her weigh is. So they can give the exact dosage.   Easiest to do it in is such a carrier where you can open the roof too.

You must probably use a trap, say a Havahart human trap.  Or rig up a carrier with bait, so it works as at basic trap.

If you want to try and take her yourself, dont take her in your hands, not even with gloves on. Wrap her instead up in a thick, soft towel.  Wrapped in, she gets immobilized and surrenders.

And how to socialize them better? It will be another question...  First things first.

Good luck!
